Fully funded by UNICEF Ghana’s Scale-Up Fund, the MINAGIE Energy Fusion Wind Turbine Pilot Project brings clean, steady power to healthcare facilities in Adeiso and Asitey. Guided by the UNICEF Health Programme, Ghana Health Service, and key partners, this work supports stronger, more reliable care for communities
Asitey Health Centre serves a peri‑urban community of more than 5,000 people within the Lower Manya Krobo area. Once operating from a small rented building without enough space or equipment, the facility received a new permanent structure in 2022 through support from the MP’s Common Fund and local contributions.
Adeiso Health Centre, located in the Upper West Akim District, supports more than 60 villages and welcomes up to 100 people each day. The centre spent years working through power cuts, water issues, and limited space, with expansion slowed by rocky ground.
MINAGIE Energy is partnering with Asitey Presby Primary School and the adjacent Asitey Health Centre to tackle the critical nexus of water, health, and education. Currently, the school relies on rainwater harvested from rooftops and stored in tanks without purification, exposing 350 pupils to unsafe drinking water. During shortages, the health centre also depends on this reservoir, undermining maternal care and healthcare delivery.
