Asitey Presby Mount Calvary School
Clean Water and Reliable Power for Education and Healthcare
MINAGIE Energy is partnering with Asitey Presby Primary School and the adjacent Asitey Health Centre to tackle the critical nexus of water, health, and education. Currently, the school relies on rainwater harvested from rooftops and stored in tanks without purification, exposing 350 pupils to unsafe drinking water. During shortages, the health centre also depends on this reservoir, undermining maternal care and healthcare delivery.
Phase 1 - Achievements
In 2025, MINAGIE Energy installed a Fusion Wind Turbine (FWT) at the Asitey Health Centre, delivering over 6,000 hours of clean energy. This pilot safeguarded maternal visits, preserved vaccines, and reduced diesel costs, proving the reliability of our hybrid wind‑solar system.
Phase 2 - Solution
The ongoing project expands impact by installing a Fusion Wind Turbine‑powered submersible pump at the school’s borehole. This system will:
- Filter and supply clean drinking water to both the school and health centre.
- Serve 350 pupils and healthcare staff with safe, reliable water.
- Train five students and two community youths through the MTEDI programme, embedding local ownership and employment opportunities
Impact Vision
By linking education and healthcare resilience through one energy‑water system, the Asitey project demonstrates MINAGIE’s dual anchor model: pairing schools and clinics to deliver sustainable infrastructure, empower youth technicians, and strengthen community resilience across rural Africa.
