Asitey Health Centre serves a peri‑urban community of more than 5,000 people within the Lower Manya Krobo area. Once operating from a small rented building without enough space or equipment, the facility received a new permanent structure in 2022 through support from the MP’s Common Fund and local contributions.
The centre now provides antenatal care, deliveries, outpatient services and family planning, helping ease the long journeys that residents previously made to referral hospitals in Atua and Agomanya.
For years, limited medical resources, poor staff accommodation and an unreliable power supply affected service delivery until the installation of a hybrid solar and wind system brought stable, clean energy.
The new Fusion Wind Turbine system from Minagie Energy now keeps key services running smoothly, from maternity and immunization to mental health care, ensuring patient safety and consistent care. To support this upgrade, staff received training on energy use, system
care and troubleshooting.
Two team members completed an advanced technical module, while the full team learned practical ways to save energy and strengthen climate‑smart healthcare. As Mental Health Nurse Mabel Yeboah shared, “We promise to handle it with care. It makes services easier for our clients and nurses.”
